Yasha Khuthia

Fellow, Teach for India

Mumbai-based Yasha majored in Psychology with a concentration in History. She has joined Teach For India (TFI), a not-for-profit, upon her graduation from Ashoka. Yasha wants to be a part of a movement to fight educational inequity. Studying at Ashoka exposed her to cultural diversity, challenging intellectual content and working towards a collective goal, apart from making her more aware of her surroundings and community. The lectures of professors Rudrangshu Mukherjee and Neil Lutsky in particular broadened her perspective on receiving and imparting education.

Teach For India works with government schools and low-income private schools where teaching resources and opportunities are scarce. Yasha would like to work with students who do not get enough exposure to reach their maximum potential and believes her background in Psychology will come in handy. She will soon begin teaching at a school in Mumbai.

“Ashoka has made me more rational, creative and empathetic. The learning curve of an Ashokan is no less than that of a leader.”

Yash Budhwar

Assistant Manager, Citi India

Hailing from Pune, Yash is getting ready to join Citi India under their Management Associate Training Programme. He will be part of their Global Subsidiaries Group, working on risk management and wealth management for the firm’s clients. He was also one of the first students from his batch to get recruited. With his Majors in Economics, he is looking forward to some number crunching and data analysis at Citi.

Yash was inspired by Prof. Ratul Lahkar’s Game Theory classes at Ashoka, which included mathematical modeling of strategic interactions among nations, political campaigns, competition among firms etc. It helped him organise and structure problems in sequences and derive a solution- oriented approach, and broadened his perspective towards risk-taking. He’s confident that this knowledge, along with the diverse skills that he gained through various extracurricular activities will hold him in good stead in the financial services sector. Yash dreams of setting up his own PE firm in the years to come.

“I believe in pushing the boundaries. I hope to utilise my learnings to pursue my passion for finance and excel at it.”
